About KDI

KDI Elements Mission Statement:

"KDI exists to enhance the quality of our customer's lives through high standards of excellence, a commitment to our employee's work environment and an enthusiastic approach to everything we do."

A solid reputation for doing the job right - regardless of size, is the foundation of KDI Element's success. It is what has transformed KDI from a husband-and-wife venture operating out of a Mazda pickup truck into a multi-million dollar company with over 300 employees. Owners Annie and Paul Klein have turned their tiny tile installation business into a 20,000 square-foot, state-of-the art manufacturing facility that boasts Design Centers rivaling any of Los Angeles' top showrooms.

KDI Elements, which has been known as KDI Stoneworks or simply, KDI, since 1990 has certainly evolved and expanded its services since their humble beginnings. They have grown so much in fact, they no longer felt their name truly reflected the wide scope of the services they offer.

On September 1, 2007, KDI Elements was officially introduced to the public, giving this well established company an exciting, fresh, new look. To solidify what the company does, they added the slogan, "Beautifying where you live, work and relax." The company principles, services, leadership and team remain the same.

Headquartered in Bermuda Dunes, CA, KDI Elements designs, manufactures and installs everything from Italian marble floors, custom ceramic tile and black diamond granite countertops to limestone showers, carpet, wood flooring, specialty stone, tile accessories and exterior living elements (barbeques, arches, pillars, columns, facades and exteriors). KDI is where builders, contractors, designers and home owners go for everything they need to make their design visions a reality. KDI has 2 impressive Design Centers that showcase their products and services and has a professional design staff on hand to personally guide you.

KDI's business philosophy remains the same today as when KDI first began. Both Midwesterners, Annie and Paul met and married in the desert and they employ a Midwest "hard work" ethic. Their primary goal is to please the customer, no matter what it takes.

"If there is a problem, we handle it right away and make it as easy as possible for the customer," says Paul, who points to that fact as the reason for their success. "How you handle problems and treat people is what counts."

And, at KDI employees are treated with that same respect. "We're an enthusiastic team working together as a family," says Annie. "we have many long-term employees because people come here for a job and stay for a career."

The couple never talks business at home in the evening. Strategic meetings happen at 5:30 a.m. on their daily five-mile walk. Paul handles the practical side of the business while Annie runs the financial end. "We often joke that it takes the two of us to make one good CEO," laughs Annie.
